    2. There are not so many, this shop copied my designs as many do now, but I was the original artist who created first Cathrineholm and Stig Lindberg prints.

    1. Hej Lisa

  9. @Jan Skacelik...

Still saying I have copied you I see. I didn't copy you and you were not the first artist to use Catherineholm or any mid century modern/retro items on a poster although you like to think you were!

I remember when I first came across your Eames rocker print and wondered if you had included mine (which had been available for quite some time before yours...) in your Etsy favourites, so I checked and there it was. You have totally copied my designs, typefaces I've used, the way I have photographed my prints...everything and you have the audacity to claim it all as your own. There is only one person who is copying other artists Jan and it's you.

The latest one you have copied of mine is your 'Make Tea Not War" print. So blatant that it's almost laughable!

I see you have now moved on to ripping off the artist Olly Moss and his Star Wars posters! Did you really think that the similarities wouldn't be noticed!? Other people have noticed.

  10. How dare you spreading your lise over the iternet! You are unbelievable. I was the first artist who ever created prints with Cathrineholm or Stig Lindberg-

Then you after your years of unsuccesful career on etsy - when you had 4 kinds of prints and did enormly poor sales, nothing in your shop was close to my style and design, you found my shop, added my prints to favorites and month after started to do Cathirneholm pritns looking like mine using same concept of illustration and quotes, using same fonts and everything!. Lots of blogs when featuring my works sometimes add some of your copy in there thinking it is my work. Everybody knows that - my prints were featured all over the world when released in 2010/11 and got huge amount of views and traffic - you came after me - it is easy to prove.

What are you triing to play on me with Olly Moss? Yes there can be some inspiration but the print is totally different using different concept , same like even Moss is using style copyied from Saul Bass - if you even know what he is. Your make tea not war is just another from your line of copies of my designs.

Shame on you you anonymous frat who never came with anything original, you are jaelous and angry little man because someone who you try to copy is getting deserved credit. My name is Jan Skácelík and Im working in graphic desing over 10 years who are you "obsessilicious", nobody heard about you until you copied my art.

  11. Dear Jan and Obsessilicious

It is a very interesting debate you are having here. Unfortunately it is totally impossible for everybody but you to tell the truth in this matter.

You are more than welcome to debate here on my blog, but I would appreciate a sober tone. Otherwise you will have to continue somewhere else.

    Thanks.

    Kind regards
    Mette

  12. Hi Mette,

I'm very sorry that this has spilled onto your blog but I wasn't going to stand by and say nothing when Jan was the first to say that I had copied him.

I'm more than used to him resorting to calling me disgusting names and his threatening attitude.

    Kind regards,

    Mark

Fantastiska tryck :)

  14. It is very easy to tell who came first with those ideas and designs, I can easily prove by the time when I was featured on many blogs that I did those designs before anybody else. At this time there was not single Cathrineholm / Stig lindberg print aviable anywhere and combination of those scandinavian retro items with typography quotes was nonexistent too, it was my original idea to do such prints combining those two things.

It is really sad and frustrating that such people stalk me and tries to accuse me over the web. It is a neverending story, all of my designs are being copied all over etsy now more or less - it is classical tax for succes but at least nobody have so much insolence to do such things like publicly trying to spread gossips about me. Also I believe that envy is main reason there as Im getting deserved attention for bringing somethign that lots of people waited for. I really do not want to discuss here about this, it makes me really sick. I doing my art for years under my real name and I stand by my statements and work. thank you.

  15. Jan... We could go on like this forever more, you say I copied you and I KNOW that you copied me...blah...blah...

I would like to ask you something though, are you proud of your actions? I only ask because I've spoken to quite a few sellers on Etsy who you have contacted who also sell mid century/retro inspired prints and posters. They told me all about your bullying tactics, how your messages were nasty and threatening in their tone. Two of the sellers that you contacted were women and they told me that they felt scared and very intimidated by you. Are you proud of bullying women Jan? It seems that you will resort to anything to make sure that nobody else sells these kind of prints. Of course you will deny sending the messages but I've seen screenshots of them and it's all there in black and white. Your behaviour is absolutely disgusting.

  16. What kind of dirty war you are playing? Im not bullying anybody jut if somebody directly steal / copy my design I try to politely tell them to not do this - some people when cought in this acting accept it as they start to feel embrassed, and some - and this is worst - some became angry and aggressive - this is classical case. I see you are trying to be in contact with evrybody who stealing and copying my designs - really "interesting" It is sad how all of youtry to pretend that it is "normal" that there was many prints like mine before etc etc - true is, there were nothing like them (the main scandinavian retro items line) and all the current etsy boom is based on my shops succes, - there is boom of /colored background, typography quote with similar fonts, retro mcm item/ prints on etsy from people opened shop just this year, most of those shops tries to have copy answer for each print I made. Your most selling and known polaroid print is copied all over there too and often by same people that are copying me, so i do not understand you very well. I can take tons of screenshots from angry caugth copyiers too - they are often really crazy. nothing new.

  17. I know the truth Jan and that's all that matters. You can shout and scream as much as you like but unfortunately for you it doesn't and will not make you right.

As your design says 'Life is beautiful' so why don't you stop being so angry and belligerent and go and enjoy it by making yourself a nice cup of tea in a Cathrineholm kettle.

As MY original design says 'Make tea not war'.

    SvarSlet
  18. You know the truth - which is I was the first and original, sad you try to pretend it is otherwise, the facts speaks clear. Life is beautiful unless someone start to ruin it by such things like you and many others do. And your "make tea not war" is no way original print, it is another from prints copying all aspects of my work from idea, style to font usage. Good bye.
